The challenge
Halden runs 140 trucks across four regions. Every month, twelve people spent most of a week moving numbers between the transport system, the ERP and a stack of spreadsheets. Close took nine working days, and small errors kept slipping into client invoices.
What we built
We started with a two-week audit of every hand-off in the close process. The biggest wins were not glamorous. We connected the systems that already existed and let an AI agent handle the reconciliation work that used to need a human.
Automated sync between the TMS and ERP, with exception alerts in Slack
A reconciliation agent that matches delivery records to invoices and flags mismatches
A weekly dashboard the finance lead actually opens
The result
Close now takes three days. The team kept every role and moved people into account management and pricing work. There have been no data incidents since launch.

We didn’t replace anyone. Northlane helped us give twelve people back the part of their week they used to spend copying numbers between screens.
